The Client

Alameda County ECD

Economic Community Development Department for Alameda County.

The Needs

Client wanted to document and formulate a story on how a public entity could work coincidingly with a private developer for the betterment of the community.

The video would showcase challenges, process and final outcome. The purpose was to show transparency on how funds were used to create a community hub. It was also meant to increase awareness for the partnership and influence how other counties could inherit the same partnership in their communities.

The Work

Video Production

Documentary on a Public - Private Partnership

I produced a short documentary for Alameda County’s Community Development Agency / Economic Development Dept.

The premise of the video is a public / private partnership and how economic development funds were used to help develop the anticipated food hall in the East Bay, the Castro Valley Marketplace. With a partnership with the County, the long vacant building was transformed into a place the community could gather, eat, shop and hangout amongst other things.

I was the lead camera (Director of Photography) and video editor. I controlled and positioned cameras for compositional shots, found and licensed music used, color graded, recorded audio interviews and balanced the sound levels.

Print / Digital Design

cvmposterboards

Visual Aid Poster / Foam Boards

Designed large foam / poster boards for each phase of the process. The poster boards were sat on easels and used as visual aids for the grand opening of the Marketplace where Alameda County representatives did a Q&A session with community members on how a Public – Private Partnership were formed in developing the Castro Valley Marketplace.
